Well well well! It’s friday again, so I’m gonna take back in time to another absolute favorite of mine that is full of emotions and positive vibes. It happens that the producer of this tune is also a big hero for me and believe me when i tell you that this man has made a BIIIG contribution in the history of dance music!

His name is DJ Cosmo (his real name being Tomas Godel) and he was first brought to my attention with his remix of “Send Me An Angel”. Many of you might know this song under the signature of Paul Oakenfold but my opinion is the version by DJ Cosmo together with Mythos is the best by far.

“Send Me An Angel” is originally from 1983 being released by the Australian New-Wave band Real Life. I must admit that for a good period of time I thought that it was a song from Erasure, but I was proved wrong. The first cover after “Send Me An Angel” was made in 1995 by The Quakes and in 1999 it was the time of Mythos ‘N DJ Cosmo to put their fingerprint on this tune. The single was accompanied by a Tandu remix, Video Cut, Radio Edit, Extended Version and also a Club Mix, being released on Unsubmissive Records, Germany. I don’t know yet who is the awesome voice heard on the track, but I promise I will let you know as soon as I find out! “Send Me An Angel” was followed by many other covers / remixes from artists like Zeromancer (2001), Paul Oakenfold (2005), Novaspace (2006) or Gregorian (2006), to name a few.

DJ Cosmo started DJing in the early 80s and started producing his own music in 1992. He has a very nice radio show called Cosmology, which I enjoy listening to every week. He teamed up during the years with great producers, DJs and vocalists like DJ Shah and Meighan Nealon. He is also the head behind many musical projects, like Purple Mood, El Cortez or Desert Rose.
