I never hear much talk about Ben Gold sadly. Sure, for those who know him or have already heard of him through channels such as Armin’s and Above & Beyond’s ‘Tune Of The Week’, alongside many of his tracks featured on stations and podcasts across the world and of course his Afterhours.fm show called ‘Life’ (nicely named after his track of the same name that was more than well received), you know what a seriously good DJ and producer he is. I stumbled across Only One Records the other week and was impressed by the melodic driving sound of Artimes ‘Precious Time’ and DJ Firefox ‘Hypnotic’. Continue Reading

Last week I announced that Trance Tuesday is about change. Where as previously I stated that it should be kept to DJs and artists who are pretty much unknown, I would like to now state that it is a free for all, you may use #trancetuesday to highlight anyone and everything trance related. I’ve got a mix sitting on my desktop that has been pretty much on repeat of late, and anyone who knows me personally and talked about trance will have heard me banging on about a track called ‘Animal’ (which was co-produced with Jordan Suckley). Mac & Taylor play and produce a sound that I completely love!
If I had my way I would book them straight away for my iLLuMIDanCe event and I’m sure one day I will. Only thing stopping me right now is their cost is a lil fraction higher than our current small venue can meet, but if we move then who knows
I’ll let their press pack do some of the talking…
Cruising Through the ranks as one of the most hotly tipped Tech-Trance acts of the moment Mac & Taylor are set to hit the heights in 2009. Aptly named “New breed tech-trance legends” by top music download site TrackItDown.net this liverpool based DJ/production duo have captured the attention of the worlds elite DJs and the world’s trance scene in general.
They have seen support from the likes of Judge Jules, Agnelli & Nelson, Sander van Doorn and many more for their productions that have been released on Couture, Abstract Recordings, Stampgevaar Digital, Beyond Digital, Communicate Recordings and Infexious Recordings.
Going through their releases on TrackItDown.net, they have an impressive list already that are all quality releases ready to demolish dancefloors across the world, and have done just that!
If you really want to know what I mean then get on with downloading their following mix

P.S. Next week there will be a little change in the rules of Trance Tuesday so we can spread the word and make it easier for all to take part. Some of you have already been doing things differently, so it only makes sense for me to go with the flow.

For some time I have been listening to Jordan Suckley and his mixes. He is a very talented individual, making use of 3 decks, FX, scratching, looping, chopping and all manner of trickery on the CDJs! Continue Reading
