The snow has fallen since my last post and many parts of the UK came to a stand still as a result. As always the ‘rightful public’ demand we spend millions of tax payers money to solve a problem that typically occurs once a year. Of course it is upsetting for DJs not being able to make their flights or return back to the UK, but as they say “Sh!t happens!”

I’m quite disappointed to be frank as Portsmouth on the south coast of England didn’t get a dusting of the white powder. I was even threatening to buy a sledge and Loo was putting me off in doing so, to which I said “Watch, it’ll snow now I haven’t got one!” Of course it did, but just not here!

Thankfully the new trance music releases this week did not disappoint, check them out below and then let me know if you got any snow.

Last week this would of been featured but Daniel Kandi‘s Sagittarius (Original Mix) wrongly got uploaded to all the download stores at the (Original Mix Edit). Oops! All good now though for this storming uplifter on Armind.

New talent alert as Jamie Harrison collides with Night Vision – he has a tough act to follow as each of Night Vision’s releases have hit the No.1 spot so far… I think this one is a winner, what about you?

Luke Terry – Tales From The Forest (Original Mix) is one of those banging uplifting tracks that packs a punch. Quality release from Unearthed Records as expected.

Robert Vadney hits the page again this week! MASSIVE production here as not only does Robert give this track a once over with his remix skills but also adds his vocals to the track! I bet Rob Corbo got a surprise when this was handed back to him

If phatt basslines are your thing, and if you miss that sound that hardstyle could of been (before it got its marching steps), then this one is for you! A monster every beat of the way – this is the track I was jumping up and down about on Twitter and Facebook Monday Chris Schweizer is out to conquest us all!

I’m not a great fan of Lisa Lashes as a DJ, but her productions are always on fine form. Many of the hard house producers have switched to producing tech-trance. I guess like me (as I was quite often out to local hard house events and the Tidy Weekenders some years ago) they switched either back to their passion and/or disliked the new ‘filth sound’ that started emerging.
Anyway back to the track, Illusionize is a great solid release for the tech-trance heads!

Johan Ekman has created a perfect example of trance with uplifting melodies, strong leads and banging beats at 140. It doesn’t all have to be hectic with hard basslines, you can have it simple and still having it! No regrets with Vaste Regrette!

If I was to be perfectly honest this track is the one that I admire most this week. A sublime rework of Ralphie B – Massive by James Dymond. An amazing track when originally released in 2001, more than 10 years later we get to enjoy it again.

10 New Trance Songs To Start The Month!

Another week has flown by, it amazes me how quick the time flies by and I’m here again looking at the masses of releases. I know the headline reads “to start the month”, and yes they were released last month…but hey-ho that’s the way it goes when you publish on the 1st of the month – pinch, punch, first of the month and no returns!

The most difficult part of these posts is deciding what to feature! Sometimes it is due to the volume of good releases, but the most difficult part is the way the download sites work and the release schedules. I am only human, so therefore I don’t always know if a track has been previously released when it gets re-released. There seems to be no way of telling “This is brand new and has never touched our stores inventory in any form before!”
I have found one way of telling (on Beatport at least) which involves some clicking, namely clicking the artist name, then Tracks and sorting them by name and seeing if it is duplicated. I may include some of these anyway just because I really do like the track and want to support the artists involved.

My problem, not yours – sorry to bore you

If you didn’t see it, this week I wrote a post with some thoughts about Simon Cowell’s DJ talent show. I recommend putting the kettle on first, and of course reading this post first.

It is only fitting that I include this re-release by two artists I have the upmost respect for. Simon Cowell may have have all the pop stars in his pocket, but Paul Oakenfold and Robert Vadney are quite clearly stating this is not the world of pop… Watch it get used as the theme tune for the show now Hahaha!

Another week and another Steve Brian track, well we couldn’t give praise to his new release George Square a miss could we? Hammered out by Kyau & Albert and released on their label Euphonic, a delicious vocal release…

Crikey! Was it really that long ago that the Original Mix of Boom Jinx – Phoenix From The Flames was released? It certainly is coming back home as Maor Levi‘s remix is on fine form!

Timur Shafiev is another great Russian producer who is making waves as more and more of the country’s talent is being recognised. Awesome vocal chops and synth work make this a vibrant track – it really has a sparkle to it!

Beast of a trance track with superb vocals from Lizzie Curious, teaming up with the strong production skills of Nick Sentience. They have kept the Team140 appetite satisfied with this one!

Classic Trance Track | DJ Kim – Jetlag (Alphazone Remix)

It is funny how trance has reverted back to the 140bpm sound being popular with many people – or at the very least there is a large population of trance fans being vocal about it across the web

DJ Kim – Jetlag is fondly remembered by many for featuring on Eddie Halliwell’s Mixmag cover CD ‘Bosh!’, for others it is an instrumental part of the high energy production antics of Alphazone – the question is, where are they now??

Happy new year all! That goes for everyone, including those celebrating the year of the dragon, as I haven’t posted here for far too long!

As a little update, I started a new job last week. I am now a Junior SEO Specialist, doing a job I have a great interest in Hooray! I’m no longer working shifts, so I’m hoping working 9-6 will enable me to have the energy to come home and write regularly. But hey, what’s this I hear? “Just tell us about the trance music Stu!” Oh yessss….

This week I’m reverting back to the old blog post style of 10 new trance songs, where I spend endless hours searching the web for new releases. If you feel like contributing to the site give me a shout, or even if you simply would like to give me feedback on the site, please do.

So here we go!

10 New Trance Tracks

First up is Heatbeat ‘Rocker Monster’. The tracks title sums it up completely as this monster sure is rocking. A fat sound with a twisted synthesised guitar and vocal work is a dance floor destroyer.

Released last week, but as I haven’t covered it already I’m gonna remind you all anyway I may dislike the influence of dubstep, but I’ll make exceptions when producers nail it like this.

One of the artists I respect most during 2011, Breakfast produced consistent productions that oozed quality. Breakfast pres. Keyworth – Median (Keyworth Remix) sets the tone for 2012 as Casey Keyworth is a man on a mission.

One of my favourite DJ sets last year, actually scrap that! MY FAVOURITE DJ SET OF 2011! It was DJ Orkidea. Here the track he worked with Solarstone on gets the Klass Goulart treatment.

Orjan Nilsen is another one of those artists that has been storming ahead on the production front and making everyone well aware that he has bags of talent.

Classic Trance Track | Marco V – Godd (Original Mix)

Thought I’d throw this in as a nod to the past. Ok so you got 9 ‘new’ tracks, but if this is not in your collection I say hang your head in shame. The bosh days of tech-trance were nothing without Marco V. Godd is a track still to this day that makes the dance floor explode.

Mitka is Unearthed with his debut release Pacifico

Unearthed Records have been literally unearthing some great talent in the trance music scene, and their latest release is no different with new Californian based artist called Mitka!

This is Mitka’s debut release, and you can tell he has done his homework with such a strong outing first time round. The Original Mix has lovely light uplifting melodies. It hits all the right notes with a perfect drum roll as the lead continues after the breakdown. A perfect example of classic trance, it hits the sweet spot nicely!

Pacifico is released with two fantastic remixes. First up is the Ilya Soloviev remix which has chunky basslines and some rather funky techno percussion going on. Next is Hanski with a great groove woven into the track due to some wicked basslines and superb work on the melodies.

I seriously don’t know which one I like most, I may just have to buy them all!

Carl Nunes – Sun Down / Thunder Bringer

Carl Nunes makes another appearance on New School Recordings with unique trance music. Sun Down has an African chanting vocal layered within the track that somehow reminds me of 90s dance music where artists were influenced from music across the world. I can’t get it out of my head along with the vocal of the title thrown in for good measure. Seriously good work!

Meanwhile Thunder Bringer is a whole other track that is one of those B sides that is a stark contrast from the A side (if we were still to be pressing vinyl). This progressive track has a good solid kick and is heavily influenced with a dark dirty electro sound.

New School Recordings has a bullet in their gun with Carl Nunes pushing out such high quality work!

Get Digitized With Damien Kennedy aka Nankeen!

Digitized Recordings are back with a selection of releases to end the year and Damien Kennedy presents Nankeen – Andromeda is one sure fire way of setting up how things should continue in 2012.

The Original Mix combines the beauty of a well structured breakdown and lead with electrifying stabs. It leans heavily towards the uplifting tech sound that is happening with UK producers right now, it certainly deserves support from the big DJs!

Adam Szabo – Arcade (Remixed)

The original mix of Adam Szabo‘s Arcade has already been piercing your ear drums throughout the summer and now with the release of the remixes, the trend is set to continue for the fall.

The Willem de Roo Remix is a strong uplifting slab of trance that holds true to the Original Mix released in August. This remix has a more airy feel to the sound with a beautiful piano structure before the trademark breakdown.

Kris O’Neil Remix takes a different route that has a massive groove (reminds me of Randy Katana)…a perfect alternative to anyone needing to inject movement on the dance floor.
