Friday Flashback | 06 November 2009

Friday Flashback Trance ClassicHey, what’s up everyone, welcome to this week’s Friday Flashback! After a short break I’m back on track with the articles and I hope there won’t be any delays from now on Hehe! I know you all understand. Now, let’s turn our heads to the speakers and hear what’s banging there this Friday. That’s right, another trance massive, this time on the more “hard” part of the trance.

If I tell you two names, Florian Schreyvogl and Konrad Schreyvogl, what would you be thinking? Well… I can hear you saying “We don’t know, you tell us!” And indeed I will. Those are the real names of “DJ Taylor & Flow”. DJ Taylor & Flow are an Austrian band better known for their 1999 hit “Gott Tanzte”, which is the exact track I will present you. For those who do not know, DJ Taylor & Flow are also the men behind “Global Deejays”, “Global Playboys”, “Groove Agents” and “Ravers on Dope”.

The first single released by Dj Taylor & Flow is “Work”, released in 1995 and 1998. It was followed up by “Gott Tanzte / God Danced” (1999), “Exzess” (2000), “Dance the Planet” (2000) and “Hardcore Vibes” (2001, remix of Dune’s original “Hardcore Vibes”).

“Gott Tanzte” maxi single contains the next versions: Gott Tanzte (Original Radio), Gott Tanzte (Millennium Club Radio), Gott Tanzte (Original Extralang), Gott Tanzte (Millennium Trance), Gott Tanzte (Milliennium Club), Gott Tanzte (New Blade Mix) and Gott Tanze Jingle. It was released in Germany by EAMS, Creative Music Records and Plaque Records, in Netherlands by T.T.F. Records, in Italy by Stik Trance, in France by Panic Records and Austria by Plaque Records. In the next year, 2000, it was finally released in US by Radikal Records.

I think I said enough now and you’re all very anxious to listen to the song. And don’t forget to… dance ;)

Bye, see you all next week!

Friday Flashback | 16 October 2009

Friday Flashback Trance ClassicThis week I’m bringing you the Friday Flashback straight from Rotterdam city! Tomorrow history is about to be written by a huge dance event that only happens once a year, I couldn’t help myself not to bring to your attention an all-time trance favourite that rocked the dance floors worldwide!

The event that happens tomorrow is called “Full on Ferry Masquerade” and its host is no one else than the legendary Ferry Corsten! Now tell me, how many of you rocked your body rock every weekend, felt like a “digital punk” or sang like you’re on fire? Alright, this means that you are already addicted to Ferry Corsten and you have no escape than to continue reading this post, hehe.

Ferry Corsten’s first alias was “Moonman” and his first single to reach a chart position was “Don’t Be Afraid”. His second alias is System F since February 1999 when he released his first single under this nickname. And here’s an interesting fact: before producing trance/club music he used to produce hardcore gabber tracks. Wow, what a change! But this was a good change, because otherwise we would miss all the beautiful tunes from him.

The song I’m gonna present you this week is called “Out of the Blue” by System F. “Out of the Blue” was released in 1999 by major labels like Tsunami (Netherlands), Essential Recordings (UK), Reef Recordings (Germany) or Dance Pool, Sony Music Entertainment (Germany).

In 2001 the album “Out of the Blue” was out and it contains other hits like “Exhale”, “Elevate” and “Indian Summer”.

Ok, now i will leave you with this week’s Flashback while I’m getting ready for the Masquerade. I promise I will get back to you with many impressions from the party!

Take care and see you all next week!

Friday Flashback | 09 October 2009

Friday Flashback Trance ClassicI bet you all miss the burning sun, the golden sand, the restless seagulls and all those endless waves of the sea, and that’s why I thought this Friday I’d bring you a tune that reminds you of the warm summer days: Kamaya Painters – Endless Wave.

I don’t know how many of you know who is behind “Kamaya Painters” project, but I’m telling you that it was none other than Tiesto and Marinus Benno De Goeij (from Rank 1). So, what else they could create than a super hit?! “Endless Wave” was their first single and it was released in 1998 in conjunction with “Northern Spirit” and appeared on “Magik Four: A New Adventure” (Magik) and “Endless Wave / Northern Spirit / Outstream” (Black Hole Recordings). In 1999 the single was released on Data Records, UK.

And because all the words in the world couldn’t describe this song good enough, I’m gonna leave you with Albion’s Remix of “Endless Wave”. Simply speachless!

Take care and see you all next week for another trance classic!

Friday Flashback 02-10-09

Posted on 02 October 2009 by Klangwelt

Friday Flashback Trance ClassicWell well well! It’s friday again, so I’m gonna take back in time to another absolute favorite of mine that is full of emotions and positive vibes. It happens that the producer of this tune is also a big hero for me and believe me when i tell you that this man has made a BIIIG contribution in the history of dance music!

His name is DJ Cosmo (his real name being Tomas Godel) and he was first brought to my attention with his remix of “Send Me An Angel”. Many of you might know this song under the signature of Paul Oakenfold but my opinion is the version by DJ Cosmo together with Mythos is the best by far.

“Send Me An Angel” is originally from 1983 being released by the Australian New-Wave band Real Life. I must admit that for a good period of time I thought that it was a song from Erasure, but I was proved wrong. The first cover after “Send Me An Angel” was made in 1995 by The Quakes and in 1999 it was the time of Mythos ‘N DJ Cosmo to put their fingerprint on this tune. The single was accompanied by a Tandu remix, Video Cut, Radio Edit, Extended Version and also a Club Mix, being released on Unsubmissive Records, Germany. I don’t know yet who is the awesome voice heard on the track, but I promise I will let you know as soon as I find out! ;) “Send Me An Angel” was followed by many other covers / remixes from artists like Zeromancer (2001), Paul Oakenfold (2005), Novaspace (2006) or Gregorian (2006), to name a few.

DJ Cosmo started DJing in the early 80s and started producing his own music in 1992. He has a very nice radio show called Cosmology, which I enjoy listening to every week. He teamed up during the years with great producers, DJs and vocalists like DJ Shah and Meighan Nealon. He is also the head behind many musical projects, like Purple Mood, El Cortez or Desert Rose.

Now, hoping that I made you curious enough, I will let you feel the thrills and the goosebumps made by “Send Me An Angel”…
